DRAFT - written for review by our lawyer. This is not legal advice and it is not in force yet.
Terms of use
Draft of 16 OCT 26. Items in [square brackets] are open for Jake and the lawyer.
1. Who provides the apps
The apps on aurochsonline.net are provided by Aurochs Consulting LLC, Nebraska, USA ("we"). Contact: +1 (308) 650-0629, aurochsconsulting.net/contact.
2. Free to use
The apps are free. You may use them for your own ranch, farm or work. Some future apps may need an access code; a code is personal and must not be shared [paid access: terms to be added when it starts].
3. A tool, not advice
- The apps help you keep records and do calculations. Check the results before you rely on them for money, feed or animal decisions.
- The animal health apps (for example the BRD decision tool) are a guide for trained people. They do not replace a veterinarian. Follow the drug label and your vet's instructions for doses and withdrawal times.
- [Lawyer: wording for "no warranty" and "limit of liability" under the right law.]
4. Your data is yours
Your records stay on your own phone or computer (see Data and privacy). You are responsible for keeping export copies. We cannot restore records that were only on a lost or cleared phone.
5. Fair use of the service
- Do not try to break into the server, guess access codes, overload the server or copy the apps or their data in bulk.
- Do not upload or send harmful files. (There is no upload page for visitors.)
- We may block an address that attacks the server. Wrong-code blocks grow from 5 minutes up to 1 week.
6. Our work
The apps, their texts, pictures and sounds are the work of Aurochs Consulting and the people who built them [and named partners, e.g. Dr. Zimina's protocol in the BRD tool - credit and permission to confirm]. You may use them as provided; you may not copy them to sell or publish elsewhere. Fonts: Inter (SIL Open Font License).
7. Changes and downtime
We may update, change or remove an app. Planned maintenance is announced in the apps beforehand. Installed apps keep working without internet in the meantime.
8. Law
[Lawyer: which law applies (e.g. Nebraska, USA), and what changes for users in the EU, Russia and Kazakhstan.]
Open points for the lawyer
- Liability for calculation results and for animal health guidance.
- Paid access codes / subscriptions later (planned, not now).
- Whether users must accept these terms (e.g. a tick box) or a link in the footer is enough.
- Russian and Kazakh versions: which language wins if they differ.
